SmartMDM Android App installation guide

The SmartMDM App is available on the Google Play store for free. Once downloaded on a device, follow these steps to install the app on the device.

STEP 1:

Download the SmartMDM app from the Google Playstore.

STEP 1b:

Before you can successfully install SmartMDM on a device, you need to first remove the existing Google Account(s) from the device. To remove the Google account(s), follow this simple process.

Ensure that other Admin account e.g: Google on the device are removed. To remove the Google Accounts on the device, follow these steps.

  1. Navigate to “Settings” on the device

2. On the Settings page, navigate to “Accounts”. Select the Google Account(s) on the device

3. Tap on the Google Account(s), and select “Remove” to remove teh Google Account from the device

Once the google accounts have been successfully removed from the device, proceed to “Step 2” below to complete the installation/setup of the app.

STEP 2:

HOW TO LOCK DOWN THE DEVICE IN KIOSK MODE

To give the SmartMDM APP full management of the device, you have to lock down the device in kiosk mode. To do this, you have to run an ADB command on the device. The ADB script should be downloaded on a computer. The user is expected to run the command after they have activated USB debugging on their device. Follow the steps below to do this.
